      Guided Tours of Sydney Town Hall

      On Tuesdays, volunteers conduct tours of the Sydney Town Hall. Tours commence at 10:30 am; the meeting place is at the top of the famous Wombeyan marble front steps facing George Street. Tickets are $10 per person. The tour includes a viewing of the ornate Vestibule with its magnificent 380-kg European crystal chandelier & Centennial Hall with its Grand Organ, which was the largest in the world when it was installed. Both areas were completed in the late 19th century. The Council Chamber is still used for meetings of the Council of the City of Sydney. Depending on what’s happening on the day of the tour, you may be granted exclusive access to areas not generally available to the public including The Lady Mayoress’ Room, the Marconi sculpture, the Vault & many other historically significant areas.
